Professional Face Painter and Owner of Colorific Kids and Body Art Fx.Born and raised in Washington state. Dutch got his start at age 18 illustrating comic books but worked for 16 years on and off as a personal fitness trainer to pay the bills. Since then he has enjoyed dabbling in just about every artistic medium he can get his hands on. Dutch is a natural talent with little formal training, which he knows is frustrating to allot of classically trained artists. “I just see it in my head and create it”. His first foray into face painting was unexpected. Dutch’s wife, Brecky, owned a children’s magazine that was running an add for a local u-pick pumpkin patch. The farm had employed an artist for several years and found out 3 days prior to opening for the October season that she was not going to be able to work for her any longer. The owner contacted my wife hoping that she could refer her to another face painter but no face painters had ever placed an advertisement with her. Dutch’s wife, wanting to be helpful, volunteered Dutch, much to his dismay, to fill in until another face painter could be found. This quarky circumstance was the beginning of a very successful face and body painting business.Dutch is an expert in human anatomy and has an exceptional talent for rendering realistic wildlife effects. This helped him to land a job at the Woodland park Zoo in Seattle were he was featured in a story on Evening Magazine, a local Seattle television show.Secretly Dutch likes horror effects and monster makeup. He has done work on 2 movies and one rock video in the last year and has started a line of prosthetic appliances called Gash FX.
